The Arc is a peerless advocate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), preserving and protecting their fundamental rights through advocacy and action in support of legislation for civil rights, employment, housing and supports. We connect people with disabilities, their families, professionals and others (like you!) to create hope, growth and change. This is your chance to join us as an advocate, not only for the person you know, but for millions of people living with I/DD. We’ll work with you to make a difference with a clear, strong, collective voice.

We are an Iowa community-based organization advocating for and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. We encompass all ages and all spectrums from autism, Down syndrome, Fragile X and various other developmental disabilities.
The Arc’s position statements address critical issues related to human and civil rights, treatment, and services and programs for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
