Our Story

The Arc of Cedar Valley is a non-profit organization serving Black Hawk and Grundy County that provides individual and group advocacy, information regarding services, recreational opportunities and direct financial assistance.  The Arc of Cedar Valley is a non-profit organization founded in 1954, affiliated with The Arc of Iowa and The Arc of the United States; the nation's largest non-profit, volunteer organization devoted to improving the lives of people with disabilities. We receive financial support from Cedar Valley United Way, memberships, and other donations.

Volunteer Your Time

Joint Volunteers "JV'S" is a committee of The Arc of Cedar Valley. The committee and volunteers plan fundraisers such as the annual Cookie Walk. The JV'S also support recreational and social events in the community for persons with disabilities. Another volunteer group of the Arc is the gophers and gopherettes. They mend clothing, repair furniture, and do many other related repairs for individuals with disabilities.

Autism NOW

Autism NOW: The National Autism Resource and Information Center will be a dynamic and interactive, highly visible and effective central point of quality resources and information for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities, their families, and other targeted key stakeholders.
