Our Story


The Arc of Jefferson & Nearby Counties is a non-profit organization serving the Fairfield and surrounding Areas that provides individual and group advocacy, information regarding services, recreational opportunities and direct financial assistance.  The Arc of Jefferson & Nearby Counties is a non-profit organization founded in 1954, affiliated with The Arc of Iowa and The Arc of the United States; the nation's largest non-profit, volunteer organization devoted to improving the lives of people with disabilities. We receive financial support from Bayer Fund, William and Donna Hoaglin Foundation, and local community members like you, memberships, and other donations.  Click here to see our current list of donors.  

SPECIAL OLYMPICS

Ross Robinson and Jinni Hanson attended the summer games in Ames, Iowa.  Ross received 2nd Place Silver Medal in Turbo Jav and 1st Place Gold Medal in the 400 meter race.  Jinni received 1st Place Gold in cycling and 2nd Place Silver Medal in the 400 meter.

SUMMER CAMPERSHIPS 

The Arc of Jefferson & Nearby Counties sponsors local individuals to attend Camp Courageous.  A summer camp activity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
